As a Materials Management Manager here at Honeywell, you will be responsible for overseeing and ensuring the success of the total materials management organization and function. Your primary objectives will include optimizing supply chain efficiency, reducing costs, and ensuring timely delivery of materials to support our production schedules. You will report directly to our Plant Director and you will work out of our St. Louis, Missouri location on a Hybrid work schedule.• Develop and ensure the success of comprehensive materials management strategies aligned with the company's overall objectives.
• Track total procurement activities, including effective vendor selection and contract management to secure a reliable and cost-effective supply of materials.
• Oversee inventory levels, minimizing excess or obsolete stock while ensuring an uninterrupted flow of materials to meet production requirements and maintain accuracy and efficiency.
• Ensure timely and cost-effective transportation of materials to and from the production facility.
• Foster effective communication and collaboration with internal departments such as production, quality control, and finance.
• Identify opportunities for process improvement within the materials management function. Implement best practices, leverage technology, and stay informed about industry trends to enhance overall efficiency.
• 8+ years of experience in materials management, procurement, and logistics, with a track record of success in optimizing supply chain processes.
• 8+ years of experience managing a successful, similar organization.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make data-driven decisions.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
• Proficiency in Oracle, with the ability to effectively utilize the system for procurement, inventory control, and supply chain optimization.
• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business, or a related field.
• Experience in Materials Management, Operations, SIOP, Inventory Management, MRP MPS, Procurement Logistics, and Manufacturing.
• Expert in material control systems such as MRP/SAP systems.
• APICS or CPIM Certification.
• Strong project management and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to influence and collaborate with all levels of the organization.
• Expertise in leading/driving change and mentorship for new leaders or peers.
• Expertise across professional disciplines within the material management function.
