Job Description:
Reporting to the Credit Manager, Risk Monitoring & Reporting the role is accountable for re-adjudicating existing merchant accounts that alert on monitoring reports as well as ad-hoc analysis to support compliance with Payment Card Networks ('PCN') and enterprise regulations.
Key Accountabilities:
- Ensure timely re-adjudication of merchant accounts alerting on monitoring reports. Reviews to be completed in accordance with the assigned discretionary limits and applicable credit policies.
- Use sound credit judgment to assess, analyze and present well-written, logical Merchant Risk Reviews under various monitoring programs. This involves identifying key merchant risks and contingent exposure and may involve financial statement analysis.
- Collaborate with Fraud Operations team to ensure reviews under the interaction model are completed in a timely manner and any concerns are promptly escalated.
- Identify operational issues and proactively recommend improvements and solutions to resolve issues.
- Provide statistical data and other reports to the Credit Manager and assist with the completion of the monthly reports within the required timeframes.
- Complete any ad-hoc analysis requests efficiently to ensure PCN and other regulatory compliance requirements are met and escalate any concerns to management.
- Engage in direct customer calls to obtain additional information or to communicate Credit team decisions.
Job Requirements:
- Previous experience in adjudication / credit underwriting
- A solid knowledge of KYC and due diligence requirements
- Strong risk assessment skills and outside-the-box thinking to identify and understand all potential risks
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Solid analytical skills and business intelligence
- Strong interpersonal skills as well as the ability to work independently
- Basic knowledge of financial statement analysis
- High proficiency in Excel and Word. Additional data query & visualization skills (SQL, Tableau etc.) would be an asset
- Previous industry experience or a detailed understanding of the payment processing dynamics would be an asset
- Previous Fraud experience would be an asset
- Undergraduate degree and/or 3-5 years relevant experience
