What You’ll Be Doing:
Monitor customer key measurables to achieve customer satisfaction.
Work with the APQP team on new product development.
Support QE requirements for PPAP submissions and annual validation to the customer.
Work with management to establish performance expectations for all our manufacturing processes and monitor those expectations for improvement.
Ensure quality problems are resolved in a timely and effective manner without recurrence, being an expert in problem-solving techniques (customer/internal issues and internal PPM).
Serve as the initial point of contact between the customer and JE, lead and champion root cause analysis.
Manage product launches for new programs, changes (internal and external).
Develop and monitor quality control and inspection methods.
Monitor and address any Layered Audit Findings, complete Layered Audits and Internal Audits on schedule.
Maintain key process documentation like Control Plan, PFMEA, Inspection Checklist, Internal PPM Gap Closure, CRRN's, Customer Issue QPR Log, etc.
Ensure all reporting is on time. Ensure internal NMR's are responded to effectively and in a timely manner.
Provide daily updates at morning walkabout meetings concerning product and process concerns and continual improvements.
Work with Process and Product Engineering to resolve customer and internally identified problems.
Determine use, scrap, or rework decisions to minimize customer risk.
Be capable of determining a course of action that best protects the customer while also providing value for our company.
What We’re Looking For:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field.
3-5+ years of direct work experience in the quality field for a global company excluding intern and coop experience.
Knowledge and experience in motors i.e. A/C, D/C, actuators.
Knowledge and experience working in a manufacturing facility.
Knowledge and experience of working with external customers, preferably automotive customers, is a MUST.
Warranty Management experience is a MUST.
Experience in working with contractors.
Knowledge/experience in managing warranty returns.
In-depth knowledge of automotive methodologies, including SPC, APQP, PFEMA development, Control Plans, PPAPs, Process Flow, AIAG requirements, and customer-specific requirements.
Experience with quality tools, including Fish Bone diagram, Pareto Charting, inspection tools, 5 Why, Is/Is Not, and other structured problem-solving methods.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to lead a problem-solving team to meet group objectives.
Thorough knowledge of modern office equipment with a special emphasis on Excel, MSWord, Minitab, and other software.
Ability to work in U.S. for any employer without sponsorship.
Ability to travel 10% in Canada, U.S. North America, mainly Mexico.
