About the Role
The Investor Services Technology Operational Resiliency Lead role is a key member of the Global Technology Operational Resiliency management team, responsible for the execution of a Technology programme of work to drive resilience within the Investor Services lines of business. This of critical importance to ensure successful and timely execution of resilience change initiatives with a view to improve platform resilience, avoid operational impacts and deliver stable solutions for our clients.
To support the execution of the Technology Operational Resiliency team book of work on both proactive and reactive basis, for example.
- Driving delivery of defined initiatives to reduce operational events.
- Collaborating with teams to adopt Citi standards for DevOps CI/CD.
- Partner with teams to solve issues and monitor through to completion.
- Identifying new solutions to be developed in response to evolving risks.
The high-level responsibilities and requirements of lead are outlined as below.
Leadership
- Programme management of multiple streams of deliverables and running regular senior stakeholder calls, confidently presenting progress along with risks or issues to timelines
- Partnering with incumbent teams to deliver is key to the success of this role.
- Ability to not only share best practises but to also work with the teams to deliver and drive common purpose of operational risk reduction and improvements to resilience.
- Overseeing implementation of identified deliverables as per plan and where required working with delivery teams to expedite and proactively clearing any impediments.
- Acting with agility and adapting solutions with a view to keep maturing the approach.
- Influence and guide the Technology teams to adopt best practises and principles.
Operational Resiliency
- Relying on Investor Services knowledge and experiences to drive, identify, diagnose and collaborate with the teams to deliver.
- Regularly conduct deep dives to assess critical identified projects to identify opportunities and risks at a line of business, cluster, client or resource level.
- Constructively challenge the ‘norms’, working to remove siloes and leveraging organisation network to implement change.
- Analysing and identifying of root causes or risk events, reviewing risk and resilience data to identify insights and consequently identifying measurable outcomes.
Governance
- Develop, maintain and communicate key metrics, OKRs, KPIs to monitor and demonstrate measurable improvements in resiliency.
- Represent Investor Services Technology at various Technology governance forums.
- Validate results and impact of delivered enhancements to ensure they meet the original objectives and helping to prevent reoccurrence.
- Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency, as well as effectively supervise the activity of others and create accountability with those who fail to maintain these standards.
Qualifications:
- Subject matter expertise from at least one of the Investor Services lines of business (i.e., Custody, Fund Accounting, Transfer Agency, Issuer Services, Middle Office, Execution Services).
- A minimum of 10 years’ experience working in Investor Services functions / projects, with in-depth knowledge of the business drivers, processes and operating model for Investor Services.
- From a strong technical background, ideally experienced in development and design. Familiar with DevOps CD/CI processes, SRE and Test automation practises.
- Familiarity with designing appropriate Technology strategies (automation, risk reduction, adoption).
- Flexibility / adaptability / curiosity and the ability to work under pressure.
- Experience of facilitating senior management conversations using data to support findings, with strong influencing and negotiating skills.
- Ability to confidently recommend constructive change and obtain management buy-in.
- Self-starter who is able to problem solve, work proactively and independently, manage competing priorities and be flexible in roles and responsibilities.
- Ability to perform well and be unfailingly diplomatic in a high pressure and complex environment, with proven analytical, planning, and organizing skills.
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field or equivalent experience.
