They will enable efficiency within our incident management processes while leading deep dives and driving overall best practices around root cause analysis and resolution for any critical incidents. Additionally, they will influence overall technical direction while mentoring other technologists in the space.

Skills:

• Deployment of IPv6 & associated security controls at scale

• DNS-related threats (enterprise and customer focused)

• Mitigation against IoT & Campus centric security threats

• Secure multi cloud (AWS, Azure, GCP) & hybrid cloud network security solutions

• Understanding of extranets, next-generation cloud-based connectivity models for supplier integration

• Leveraging Site Reliability Engineering principles in the build and operation of secure and reliable systems

• General Cyber Security & Network Security technologies such as IPS/IDS, CSOC integration

• Experience of leading and resolving live cyber attack incidents

• Promote a culture of engineering excellence, using opportunities to reuse and innersource solutions where possible

• Effectively communicate with and influence key stakeholders across the enterprise, at all levels of the organization

• Operate as a trusted advisor for a specific technology, platform or capability domain, helping to shape use cases and implementation in an unified manner

• Lead the way in creating next-generation talent for Tech, mentoring internal talent and actively recruiting external talent to bolster Capital One’s Tech talent

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree

• At least 7 years of software engineering or software development experience within the network security domain including the creation or evolution of network security tooling or automation of processes through the use of programming languages or shell scripts

• At least 5 years of public cloud experience (AWS, GCP, Azure)

• At least 3 years of experience with Network Infrastructure Security Engineering

Preferred Qualifications:

• Masters Degree

• 12+ years of software engineering or software development experience within the network security domain including the creation or evolution of network security tooling or automation of processes through the use of programming languages or shell scripts

• 7+ years of experience in building distributed systems and highly available services using cloud computing services (AWS, GCP, Azure)

• 5+ years of experience with Network Infrastructure Security Engineering

• Relevant industry certifications such as CCIE/CCDE, CISSP, AWS or GCP professional network or security certifications
