Knack Works is seeking a mid-level Windows System Administrator passionate about formulating new solutions to join our on-site team in Northern Virginia. Our team manages several complex platforms, spanning multiple projects and customers. A bit more about the role:
- Support the daily activities of configuration and operation of windows IT systems
- Support Sharepoint, Exchange Server, Active Directory, and SQL Server administration
- Seek to automate manual tasks and build automation into the configuration management of the windows environment
- Support for implementation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of windows IT systems.
- Assist users in accessing and using windows IT systems through ticket and email correspondence.
- Provide Tier 1 (Help Desk) and Tier 2 (Escalation) problem identification, diagnosis and resolution of problems and assist in the resolution of Tier 3 technical fixes.
- Monitoring and tracking problem resolution for all of the windows client/server/storage/network devices.
- Escalate and communicate of the status technical issues to respective interorganizational personnel.
- Support optimization of system operations and resource utilization
- Support system capacity analysis and planning.
- Work through the development lifecycle including CI/CD releases.
Here's what you'll need
- Must be willing to work on-site in Northern Virginia
- Familiar with CI/CD (continuous integration/continuous deployment) frameworks
- Familiar with Windows system administration
- Familiar with Sharepoint, Exchange Server, Active Directory, and SQL Server administration
- Familiar with automation of manual tasks and use of configuration management tools to perform repeatable automation
- Familiarity with Python and Powershell
- Understanding of container orchestration using Kubernetes
- Familiar with Git based processing
- Basic Atlassian suite task tracking systems (Jira and Confluence)
