About the Role:

The Materials Supervisor is responsible for the daily supervision of distribution and incoming acceptance activities. Including the following: Supervise, lead, and coach Materials Associates and Receiving Inspectors, while spending time in the related areas. Meet daily operational activities (receive, returns, inspection, storage, pick, pack, and ship), proactively identify and resolve issues. Meet quality objectives by ensuring compliance to quality systems and partner with Quality function as necessary. Meet facility and department cost, budget objectives and business group goals. Support development and communication of departmental goals in order to achieve effective core metric performance. Promote, monitor and ensure a safe work environment and adhere to all safety policies. Participation, and in some cases lead, strategic and business improvement activities. Facilitate and manage cross department communications and initiatives. Work with global supply chain managers and planning groups to resolve issues and work to improve business processes. Acts as logistics facilitator to ensure all elements of the distribution process are coordinated in such a way that customer requirements and time constraints are met. Responsible for administering some human resources processes. Provide insight and support in department budgeting. Oversee the management of the department mechanical equipment fleet and other equipment. Oversees the processing, packaging, and storage of supplies, materials, and equipment. Supervises employees who maintain records update records as needed. Ensure integrity of data systems (i.e. Kronos, SAP, etc.).

Your Responsibilities Will Include:

  • Drive departments to meet metrics while maintaining compliance with all regulations and procedures. Provide day-to-day direction concerning work assignments, overtime requirements and priorities. Primary driver for project related work and implementation phases.
  • Perform administrative duties, such as monthly employee meetings, Kronos/attendance, performance appraisals (input w/ mgr.), disciplinary actions, job descriptions, interviewing, rewards & recognition, and training/development.
  • Control of warehouse operations through various performance measurements. May include turnaround time, error rates, stock turns, inventory variance, A/B/C analysis, slow-moving inventory items, non-moving inventory items, shortages, and cycle counting. Ensuring compliance to functional operating instructions
  • Provide short-range planning concerning staffing requirements, OT requirements, schedules, budget, and space requirements.
  • Develop/Maintain procedures within department or functional area
  • Participates/Leads tiered meetings to ensure proactively on performance targets: Daily pass-down within the Material/IQA team, Daily Materials Management Department pass-down, weekly Material/IQA team, etc.
  • Analyze the process for training (and continuously improve) while assigning the appropriate lead trainer(s) within the team to develop new inspectors and material handlers while hitting cross-training goals
  • Coordinate with Supplier Quality Engineers & Buyers to develop improvements to the current state: special crating, packing requirements (e.g. ESD), reduced package size or any other special activities.
  • Participates in evaluating metrics (e.g. Safety, Quality, Inspections, Stocking, Reservations filled, etc.) monthly and annually for year over year improvements.
  • Provide long-range planning concerning staffing, budget, equipment requirements, methods improvements, capital equipment, and technology improvements (bar coding, scanning/automaton, retrieval systems, etc.). Performs other duties as required.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required
  • Minimum of 2 years of distribution/materials management experience
  • Minimum of 2 years of supervisory or lead experience preferably in a distribution or manufacturing environment.
  • Proven experience leading staff to achieve /exceed goals established
  • Proficient in Microsoft tools and VISIO
  • Knowledge of lean principles
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience supervising materials team in a medical device environment preferred
  • Knowledge and experience working with an ERP System (SAP, Oracle, QAD, etc.) including inventory receipt, movement, and fulfillment activities
  • Ability to manage and perform routine inventory accuracy activities such as cycle counts and full physical counts
  • Experience managing domestic and international freight and parcel shipments including communications with common carriers and freight forwarders
  • Knowledge of medical device labeling requirements and experience using labeling systems and hardware.

Maximum Salary: $ 132000

Compensation fornon-exempt (hourly), non-sales rolesmay also include variable compensation from time to time (e.g., any overtime and shift differential) and annual bonus target (subject to plan eligibility and other requirements).
