As a

Principal Architect
, you will:

  • Establish and Lead the Architecture function for Global Private Bank in India
  • Have strong stakeholder, influencing and thought leadership abilities, as an individual contributor and specialist
  • Be experienced in modern cloud-based Architectures able to support regional and intra-day processing.
  • Bring recent (or current) experience working for another global Asset/Investment or Wealth Management firm and particularly Wealth Planning & Advice, Client Onboarding, Portfolio Management, Trading & Order Management, Client Performance Reporting, Investing, Lending, Banking
  • Bring strong industry practices and methods whilst remaining commercial and client value focused
  • Have worked on driving adoption of at least one System of Record i.e., Client/Account, Instrument etc.
  • Be comfortable facing off to senior stakeholders and leading Architecture Councils/Review Boards/Forums and other working groups.
  • From a governance standpoint, bring a proven track-record of defining Current State Architecture, mapping Target/Future State Architecture, the roadmap to get there, coupled with the metrics/KPIs to track progress whilst staying lightweight
  • Deep knowledge and experience defining and implementing Functional, Data, Application and Technical architecture
  • Innovate by apply AI/ML technologies to Architecture and Engineering

In this role, you will design and develop IT architecture (integrated process, applications, data, and technology) solutions to business problems in alignment with business strategy and group architecture direction and standards. You will perform technical planning, architecture development, and modification of specifications as well as develop specifications for new products/services, applications, and service offerings. This opportunity will also require that you assess the compatibility and integration of products/services proposed as standards in order to ensure an integrated architecture across interdependent technologies.

Responsibilities:

1. Architecture Leadership

  • Advises and leads on strategy and development of multiple products, applications, and technologies across the Wealth Management portfolio.
  • Translates highly complex technical issues, trends, and approaches to leadership to drive the firm’s innovation and enable leaders to make strategic, well-informed decisions about target state architecture.
  • Develop and implement architecture principles, strategies and guidelines.
  • Lead the design and development of complex systems and solutions.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior architects and development teams.
  • Establishes and leads an architecture governance body.
  • Champions the firm’s culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect

2. Solution Design

  • Design scalable, secure and efficient software architectures
  • Evaluate new technologies and tools to drive innovation and improve existing systems.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them to technical solutions.

3. Technical Expertise

  • Possess deep expertise in multiple technology domains and technologies such as
    • Cloud computing (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS)
    • Compute/Container/Orchestration technologies (Docker, Kubernetes, ECS, EKS, Lambda/Serverless etc.)
    • Microservices & multi-tier architectures
    • DevOps/CI/CD (GIT/Bitbucket, Maven, Gradle, Jenkins, Sonar)
    • Java (Core & EE, Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring Cloud) & Python
    • RDBMS systems and NoSQL, Storage Technologies (S3, EBS etc.)
    • API – GraphQL, REST, API Gateway
    • Integration and events/messaging technologies (Kafka, RabbitmQ, SNS, SQS)
    • Caching Solutions such as Elasticache/Redis, Hazelcast, EHCache
    • Observability and monitoring (Dynatrace, Cloud Watch, Grafana, Splunk, Datadog)
  • Stay updated on industry trends and best practices to ensure architecture alignment with business goals

4. Collaboration

  • Work closely with cross-functional teams including developers, engineers, product managers and business stakeholders.
  • Communicate complex technical concepts effectively to non-technical audience.

Requirements

  • Wealth Management technology experience working across Wealth Planning & Advice, Investing, Lending, Banking with cross-asset experience including Fixed Income, Equities, and Alternatives (preferred)
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field
  • 10+ years applied experience with strong proficiency in software development methodologies, architecture frameworks, design patterns, testing and operational stability
  • Excellent leadership, communication and problem-solving skills
  • Experience establishing vibrant engineering communities and guilds
  • Expertise in one or more programming language(s), applications, and architecture disciplines
  • Demonstrated prior experience influencing across functions and teams to deliver modern architecture
  • Extensive practical cloud native experience
  • Ability to evaluate current and emerging technologies to recommend the best technology solutions and approaches to achieve the future state architecture
  • Hands on experience working at code level (preferred)
  • Knowledge of AI/ML technologies and architecture is a major plus
