Job Summary:
To effectively handle and manage all types of personnel and employee relations issues while ensuring a pleasant and positive work environment. This incumbent is responsible for protecting the rights of the individual employee while also meeting the needs of the business. This job is necessary in order to maintain an atmosphere of fairness in the workplace and assist in helping to enforce company policies and practices while adhering to all state and federal laws in regards to employment and labor issues as well as safety regulation compliance.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Build effective relationships with business partners, suppliers, service vendors, employees and internal and external customers and play an active role in setting the sites employee relations climate.
- Understand site needs and develop, communicate, enforce and/or support the Company’s policies, practices, procedures and philosophies.
- Ensure that the site is in compliance with all local, state and federal laws and regulations.
- Provide guidance to the sites employees and look for opportunities for the professional development of business unit employees as applicable.
- Ensure that the support services for the business are provided in an efficient and timely manner and recommend changes when necessary and appropriate.
- Maintain good employee morale through effective communication and leadership skills.
- Be able to effectively multi-task and be flexible to adapt to changing business situations.
- Assist in explaining, administering and resolving issues for HR.
- Consult with leadership and supervision as required regarding employee performance issues and assist with the disciplinary process by conducting all employee termination discussions or mediating and assisting in solving employee performance and/or work issues.
- Coordinate and assist with employee activities and company events such as the holiday party and/or other employee relations activities.
- Become involved in community activities and represent West in community related matters.
- Manage HR paperwork and systems including new hires, transfers, attendance tracking, pay, badging, termination, filing, posting bids and announcements.
- Other duties as required.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in HR, business, psychology.
- SHRM certification preferred.
- 3 – 5 Years of experience.
- HR experience preferred; including in-depth knowledge of all employment and labor laws. Able to effectively utilize all Microsoft Office applications and various HR software programs.

- Able to be aware of all relevant SOPs as per Company policy as they are related to the position covered by this Job Description.
- Support and contribute in Lean Sigma programs and activities towards delivery of the set target.
- Able to comply with the company’s safety policy at all times.
- Able to comply with the company’s quality policy at all times.
