The Operational Risk Intmd Analyst is a developing professional role reporting to the Analysis and Reporting Governance Lead. Deals with most problems independently and has some latitude to solve complex problems. Integrates in-depth specialty area knowledge with a solid understanding of industry standards and practices. Good understanding of how the team and area integrate with others in accomplishing the objectives of the sub-function/ job family. Applies analytical thinking and knowledge of data analysis tools and methodologies. Requires attention to detail when making judgments and recommendations based on the analysis of factual information. Typically deals with variable issues with potentially broader business impact. Applies professional judgment when interpreting data and results. Breaks down information in a systematic and communicable manner. Developed communication and diplomacy skills are required in order to exchange potentially complex/sensitive information. Moderate but direct impact through close contact with the businesses' core activities. Quality and timeliness of service provided will affect the effectiveness of own team and other closely related teams.Responsibilities:

  • Perform analysis to support governance and support in the execution of the Management and Board Committees.
  • Provide support in assessing the quality, completeness, and accuracy of the committee materials.
  • Perform analysis to support with the identification of escalations, risk and control topics for root cause, partnering with Controls and Business/process owners to confirm holistic corrective actions and improvements.
  • Provide check and challenge to ensure appropriate escalation in according with Citi Governance Policy and Escalation Policy.
  • Analysis of issues, escalations and control breaches and dissemination and learnings across other business units for process improvement to limit the occurrence of similar future events and where similar risk exposure might exist.
  • Provide analysis of Operational and Compliance Risk in accordance with established Policy requirements.
  • Provide support in the analysis to identify, assess, record and response to Operational and Compliance Risk events, ensuring these are captured accurately, timely and in accordance with requirements.
  • Provide support in the implementation of standards and procedures that conform to enterprise requirements and support sound operational and compliance risk management.
  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.

Qualifications:

  • 2-5 years previous experience
  • Excellent organizational skills, ability to prioritize and adapt to change
  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively and with people at all levels of the organization
  • Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to both work collaboratively and independently; ability to navigate a complex organization
  • Proficient in MS Office applications ( Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Project management skills, MCA knowledge

Education:

  • Bachelor’s/University degree or equivalent experience
