Role Overview:

The Senior People Operations Specialist will provide the full spectrum of HR administration, support and service delivery. This role reports to the Human Resources Director, Japan.


As a Senior People Operations Specialist, you will:

  • Work closely with the HR Director and Japan Country Manager on inter-company integration
  • Process accurate and timely payroll, social insurance, pension, labor insurance, year-end tax adjustment and submit report of payment in collaboration with payroll vendor
  • Handle system (HCM) operations, management and audit: update, enter and manage transactions promptly to maintain data integrity, and generate reports as required
  • Support the resolution of employee relations matters, address general concerns of employees and managers
  • Manage employee on-boarding and development which encompasses new hire training and continuous learning and development within the organisation
  • Ensure compliance to local employment regulations as well as implementation of company’s policies (Japan work rule and company-wide policies)
  • Work with management to set compensation recommendations and help communicate market expectations
  • Participate and be involved in benefits plan, employee health and safety as well as HR projects and initiatives
  • Support, coach and facilitate employees and managers on performance management – systems, process, reviews, etc.

  • Minimum 8 years of relevant working experience
  • Knowledge of and understands the payroll matters and processes, social insurance, pension, labor insurance, year-end tax adjustment, etc. possessing a Certificate of Labor and Social Security Attorney (社会保険労務士) is preferred
  • Good knowledge and understanding of local employment law and related practice
  • Excellent English communication skills, verbal and written
  • Hands-on person with initiative and integrity
  • Interpersonal communication skills
  • Tactful in managing sensitive and confidential matters and information
  • Independent, self-driven and responsible individual with the ability to interact effectively with employees at all levels
  • Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university
