As a Software Development Engineer in the AWS Healthcare AI team, you'll play a crucial role in developing AI-powered healthcare solutions. You'll be working on transformative products that leverage generative and agentic AI to enhance clinical and administrative workflows for healthcare providers. Your work will directly contribute to improving patient care, enhancing operational efficiency, and delivering exceptional value to our customers.
Key job responsibilities
• Design, develop, deploy, and maintain AWS healthcare services using cloud computing and AI technologies
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product managers, applied scientists, and other engineers to define and execute on our product roadmap
• Implement and optimize machine learning models for healthcare applications
• Contribute to architectural decisions for scalable, reliable, and efficient cloud services
• Ensure high standards of code quality through code reviews, automated testing, and continuous integration
• Participate in the full software development lifecycle, from concept to delivery and maintenance
• Drive innovation in solving complex healthcare challenges using advanced technologies
• Maintain operational excellence and compliance with healthcare industry standards

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related technical field
- 5+ years of professional software development experience
- Strong proficiency in at least one programming language such as Java, C++, or Python
- Experience with distributed systems and cloud computing platforms
- Familiarity with machine learning concepts and their practical applications
- Knowledge of data structures, algorithms, and software design patterns
- Experience with agile development methodologies
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Master's degree in Computer Science, AI, or related field
- Experience with healthcare data standards (FHIR) or HIPAA compliance
- Familiarity with AI/ML frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, or scikit-learn
- Knowledge of natural language processing (NLP) or speech recognition technologies
- Experience with AWS services and cloud architecture
- Contributions to open-source projects or research publications
- Strong communication skills and ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
