Job Description:
The individual should be able to apply broad knowledge and extensive experience in Manufacturing to deal with variations in work conditions and operations to solve complex and diverse problems. Direct leadership responsibility for subordinates with clearly defined roles. Reviews and approves work results conducted by subordinates.
Major Duties and Responsibilities
3. Manages subordinates with clearly defined roles within direct functional disciplines, such as Production & Process Engineering and collaborates to provide direction to support functions such as Quality, Production Planning, Materials and Warehousing, Maintenance,Health/Safety/Environment,Lean Manufacturing & Continuous Improvement, etc. Determines priorities and timetables, assigns resources/tasks, and provides performance feedback. Accountable for the activities and results of their subordinates.
4. Subordinates are on a support or lower professional level.
5. Supervises development and implementation of functional and cross-functional projects, plans, and programs in support of business and strategic plans. Proactively communicates project direction and status to appropriate personnel.
6. Handles a wide variety of non-routine and difficult inquiries where the solution is not immediately apparent. Develops solutions for multi-faceted, interrelated, and complicated problems, which require strong analytical skills and significant interpretation of data. Most complex problem solving may require conceptual thinking to assess options, making decisions by applying extensive experience and knowledge of related and non-related precedents, practices and policies to solve significantly different problems.
7. Resolves issues and conflicts related to direct reports.
9. Work tasks encompass concepts within multipledisciplines/practiceswhich may include more than one department/location such as R&D, Marketing, Sales, Materials, Sourcing, Finance, Logistics, etc.
Working tasks might include:
b. Ensures production volume, cost and quality of production, as well as production schedules are met
c. Monitors production processes, work assignments, attendance control, vacation planning, staffing levels, etc.
d. Investigates alternative assembly/production methods
f. Works with engineering in reviewing methods of operations to improve efficiency and rates including scale up of new equipment and processes
11. Negotiates and counsels at an expert level with an audience which may not be knowledgeable in the subject area. Demonstrates solid persuasion skills and manages differing interests and perspectives.
14. Understands and enforces corporate & country policies and procedures. May manage workforce vendors and contracts.
15. The job also requires performing other duties as assigned by the Supervisor from time to time.
