The Operational Risk Officer role is to serve as an Independent Operational Resiliency Risk Manager to support oversight and challenge of Citi’s Institutional Clients Group. Primary responsibilities include:
- Support development of resiliency strategy, policy and projects.
- Apply operational risk management guidelines and procedures for identifying First Line of Defense (FLOD) risks
- Pursue continuous improvement and challenge adoption of Lessons Learned during operational resilience related tests, exercises, and simulations
- Support Resiliency Risk Oversight tools development
- Liaison with Institutional Clients Group Risk and other internal and Industry peers

Process:
- Support development of operational resiliency strategy, policy and projects
- Apply operational risk management guidelines and procedures for identifying First Line of Defense (FLOD) risks
- Pursue continuous improvement and challenge adoption of Lessons Learned during operational resilience related tests, exercises, and simulations
- Support Enterprise Resiliency Risk Oversight tools development
- Ensure Risk Governance framework operates efficiently, and operational losses are operating within the defined Risk Appetite parameters
- Provide challenges on Key Indicators and Material Operational Risks
- Work with First Line of Defense in the review of the documentation and reporting
- Analyze, capture, and report risks. Collaborate with FLOD technical Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and management regarding all aspects of Business and Technology recovery planning and testing
- Guide and assist in the implementation of sound and effective resiliency processes and
- monitoring of Institutional Clients Group, which includes its Banking, Markets and Services
- businesses
- Evaluate, advise, and ensure effectiveness of Business and Technology capabilities and controls across Citi
- Facilitate and disseminate best practices across all LoBs
People:
- Assist resiliency managers and their teams to manage staff including training and career development plans and to ensure high morale among prevention, detection, and recovery staff
- Champion enterprise resiliency awareness and best practice sharing with various stakeholders and aid in the development of continuity/resiliency risk management training modules
- Raise the level of operational resiliency awareness among country officers and other related staff
Knowledge/Experience:
- 5+ years of Business Continuity, Technology Disaster Recovery, Operational Resiliency or Risk Management
- Skilfull understanding of buiness continuity and disaster recovery management lifecycle.
- Thought leadership and clarity in presenting ideas to senior management.
- Proven technical knowledge of resilience and recovery principles and processes, to include up to date knowledge of current technology solutions, including Cloud and hybrid third party solutions
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements underpinning standards, including, NIST, ISO, FFIEC, DRI, etc.
- Demonstrated analytical skills with follow-up and problem-solving capability.
Management:
- Ability to work effectively with individuals with diverse backgrounds and positions
- Ability to work independently
- Ability to communicate complex analytical ideas effectively and persuasively
- Ability to influence and stablish relationships with key stakeholders from remote locations
Functional Background:
- Project management
- Understanding of commercial banking business, systems and processes
- Policy formulation
Technical Skills:
- Deep understanding of technology risk management and response plan cycle management
- Detail oriented with analytical skills, with an ability to perform data manipulation and presentation. Expert in Microsoft Office Suite, including SharePoint.
- Thorough understanding of global business continuity practices and industry trends

Qualifications:
- Undergrad in Business Administration, Computer Science, Engineering or any other computationally intensive discipline.
- Graduate degree is a plus.
