What you’ll do
The primary responsibilities associated with the role are set out below:
- Ongoing review of the regulatory landscape, assessment of compliance and, where required, design and execution of remediation plans.
- Ownership and oversight of the CEP Model Risk Framework and Procedures
- Primary 2nd line of defence lead, and partner with 1st line of defence, on model use identification, ranking of critical models and attestation.
- Independent review and challenge of CEP model risk appetite framework and key risk indicators (KRI).
- Preparation and presentation of model risk reporting, including escalation, to CEP Board and governance committees.
- Oversee model risk validation activities for CEP, including any necessary outsourcing arrangements in line with the European Banking Authority guidelines.
The CEP Head of Model Risk role is a “Controlled Function” under the Central Bank of Ireland Fitness and Probity regime as defined by the Central Bank of Ireland Reform Act 2010 and Principal Regulations 2011, and amending Regulations 2014, 2015.
What we’ll need from you
- Experience across risk management, quantitative, risk governance or regulatory-based roles.
- Excellent knowledge of model risk guidance from European and other international regulators.
- Excellent communication skills to guide, influence and negotiate internally across all lines of defence, and with auditors and regulatory authorities.
- Ability to succinctly deliver compelling presentations and influence executive audiences.
- Proven ability in cross-functional project and stakeholder management.
- Ability to drive innovation via thought leadership while maintaining end-to-end view.
- Intellectual curiosity to stay abreast of regulatory and industry advances.
- Proficient with MS Office suite.
- Bachelor’s/University degree or equivalent experience, potentially Masters degree, in a quantitative discipline.
