We’re looking for a Senior-Level Electrical Engineer who is excited about working on projects that enable the heart of our clients’ business. Join us and you’ll have the chance to work on projects including steel and aluminum manufacturing facilities as well as other industrial and manufacturing projects. You’ll be accountable for schedule and technical quality of challenging engineering tasks, as you gain familiarity with the client’s expectations, scope, budget and schedule. You may also provide on-site assistance during startup and coordinate work activities with other staff members and the discipline lead. Your multi-discipline, highly interactive team will produce single lines diagrams, electric room layouts, cable tray designs, cable schedules, ductbank designs, installation details as well as grounding, lighting, and power plans. You’ll also assist directly with the more complex portions of the design process, interacting directly with the client, owner and contractors to assist construction on site. You and your team will work closely with client owners in a fast paced, dynamic environment to establish design requirements and produce construction documents for state-of-the-art manufacturing processes. Your team will also contribute to the overall planning of a project from concept through construction and into commissioning.
Additionally, in this role, you’ll:
- Interact with machine and equipment vendors
- Manage the design of power, lighting building utility and auxiliary systems
- Manage project budgets and staffing and overall execution
- Assign tasks to project contributors
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering
Professional Engineer license · At least 15 years of engineering experience in industrial electrical systems
Solid working knowledge of NFPA 70 (NEC), and IEEE standards
- Experience managing workload and leading other design professionals
- Industrial or heavy industry design experience
- A good grasp of large equipment including rotating machinery concepts and system such as cooling water and hydraulics
- Knowledge of low and medium voltage drive systems
- Knowledge of automation systems including PLC/HMI and Level 2 systems
- Strong communication skills both verbal and written
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Ideally, you’ll also have:
- Construction or field commissioning experience
- Working knowledge of Revit and 3D modeling
- Forward thinking mentality
- The ability to contribute to best practices and with innovative ideas
