Your responsibilities will include:
- Working with on-site staff, cross-functional teams and site leadership to identify and control significant environmental health and safety impacts of operations
- Serving as the EH&S representative in cross-functional projects for new process and chemical introduction, capacity expansion, facility changes, new equipment introduction, etc.
- Performing daily activities to meet corporate needs, which includes reporting and maintaining site EH&S metrics, statistics and records to ensure compliance with local, state and federal regulations
- Identifying hazardous workplace conditions and establishing guidelines for compliance, risk and injury reduction; participate in regulatory inspections and serve as liaison with regulatory agencies
- Conducting SDS risk assessments as well as operations risk assessments to specify engineering controls and other regulatory requirements as applicable
- Conducting internal and external EH&S compliance audits, self-assessments, safety surveys and inspections throughout the facilities; review and revise procedures as necessary
- Maintaining EH&S programs and participating in new program implementation
- Providing regulatory guidance and recommendations for facilities modifications as well as equipment specifications, installations, and process improvements
- Serve on EH&S-related committees, task forces and/or cross-functional teams; serve as a core member of the emergency response team
- Serving as the facilities’ Hazardous Materials & Waste Coordinator, which includes dispositioning hazardous, non-regulated and biomedical waste streams; maintain professional contacts with approved waste vendors
Required qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in an EH&S-related discipline with at least 5 years of relevant EH&S experience
- Minimum 2 years of EH&S experience in a commercial, R&D, manufacturing or industrial environment
- Working knowledge of local and federal EH&S regulations and standards (i.e. OSHA, EPA)
- Knowledge of injury and incident prevention programs (ergonomic, risk assessments, root cause analysis, etc.)
- Experience creating and managing EH&S programs; ability to identify and implement best practices
- Experience developing and leading EH&S training; ability to influence cross-functional groups
- Knowledge and applicable experience with ISO14001:2015 standard and ISO45001:2018 standard
- Some team leadership or supervisory experience
- Ability to travel up to 10%
Preferred qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, Occupational Health or safety-related discipline with at least 7 years of relevant EH&S experience
- Minimum 5 years of EH&S experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment
- Professional EH&S Certification (i.e. CSP, CIH or CHMM)
- Ability to communicate effectively with individuals on all levels, in and outside of the organization
Maximum Salary: $ 197000
