The Wealth Management Portfolio Analysis Group (PAG) within J.P. Morgan Asset & Wealth Management is responsible for performance measurement and portfolio analytics for Private Bank clients and serves as a value-added source of insight, independent analysis and thought leadership for internal clients including portfolio managers, front office advisors and senior management. Analysis includes but not limited to investment performance calculation, return attribution, risk analytics, comparative analysis, investment reporting and composite construction.
Job responsibilities:
- Provide the best client service experience by understanding client needs and by developing relationships across the organization, specifically front office advisors, portfolio specialists and operation teams
- Interpret performance results and produce analysis including attribution, dispersion, etc. for client portfolios, determining sources of alpha and identifying the contributors responsible for these results
- Provide regular trainings and advise Front Office teams on performance methodologies, reporting and insights available to our clients
- Monitor data quality through validation controls and outlier investigation, working closely with operations, project and technology partners for timely resolution of identified data quality issues
- Lead ongoing initiatives of the team with relevance to operational efficiencies, enhanced controls, process improvements, adherence to industry standards and performance insight
- Contribute to strategic initiatives designed to implement best-in-class solutions for stakeholders
Required qualifications, capabilities and skills:
- Bachelor degree in Finance, Mathematics or related disciplines
- Minimum of 4 years experience in Performance Analytics, Risk Analysis, Operations, or a similar role within the Asset Management and/or Private Banking industry
- Effective communicator, with the ability to lead discussions and present business results to a variety of business stakeholders
- Strong relationship management skills to build sustainable and productive alliances across matrix organizations
- Proficiency with issue resolution and root cause analysis, including showing the ability to research and resolve issues in a timely manner
- Ability to adapt to changing business priorities, self-driven and delivery focused with the ability to work autonomously
Preferred qualifications, capabilities and skills:
- Proficiency in automation tools such as Alteryx, Tableau desirable
- Established analytical and quantitative skills with strong cognitive and problem solving capabilities, knowledge of performance calculation methodologies, attribution and risk analytics is highly advantageous
- Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), Certificate in Investment Performance Measurement (CIPM) or progress toward designation a plus
- Knowledge of securities operations, trade processing and fund accounting a plus
- Fluency in Cantonese/Mandarin is preferred
