What You’ll do:

As an Advanced Test Engineer, you will work closely with the development teams, testing in parallel, to uncover performance and capacity issues in preliminary designs.

Focus areas:

• Effectively perform software testing tasks with minimal supervision to uncover defects in software builds, within an agile/scrum environment. Tasks include a range of testing activities across the full software development lifecycle.
• Record clear reproduction steps for all defects found, logged in defect tracking system, and work closely with development teams to have defect resolved.
• These tasks involve the authoring and execution of manual testing as well as the development of automation scripts (to replace the manual test cases).
• Actively analyse testing results to uncover trends and patterns in software quality.
• Ability to assist in investigation and reproduction of customer issues, to reduce the support load on development teams.

Key Experience & Capabilities:

• 3+ years testing experience, with experience in system performance/capacity testing.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Windows, networking, and domains
• Manual test case authoring and execution
• Prepare accurate records of test results over days of testing
• Traceability of test cases to requirements
• Testing within an agile/scrum environment
• Understanding complex software solutions involving 30+ Windows based PCs / virtual machines
• Performance, capacity, and longevity testing of complex multi-machine systems
• Reviewing logs to aid in defect identification and investigation
• Analysing defects to determine alternative tests to execute to narrow down the cause of the defects
• Knowledge of VMWare virtualisation

WE PREFER

• Knowledge of the Honeywell Enterprise Buildings Integrator (EBI), Digital Video Manager (DVM) and Command Control Suite (CCS) products
