Thelocated inis responsible for laying and binding building materials, such as brick, structural tile, concrete block, cinder block, glass block, and terra-cotta block, with mortar, asphalt, and other substances to construct or repair walls, partitions, roadways, sewers, guardrail, and other structures.


Essential Job Functions

  • Examine brickwork, roadway, or structure to determine needs for repair.
  • Interpret blueprints and drawings or assess a repair to determine specifications and to calculate the materials and tools required.
  • Perform routine maintenance on equipment and determining when and what kind of maintenance is needed.
  • Attends daily safety trainings and follow all safety directives.
  • Manages work orders assigned through INFOR Enterprise Asset Management System (EAMS) by indicating labor, materials used, and a description of work completed in a timely manner.
  • Manages time and prioritizes work orders to ensure that client needs, and expectations are met.
  • Performs quality repairs that extend the life of the facility

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Building and Construction -- Knowledge of materials, methods, and the tools involved in the construction or repair of walls, buildings, or other structures such as roadways.
  • iPad & computer skills, good written and verbal etiquette.
  • Ability to work from lifts and ladders.
  • Ability to work adjusted schedules during extreme weather events. Weekend work maybe required with this position.
Here's what you'll need
  • HS Diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience
  • Minimum 2-3 years general maintenance experience in the areas of masonry, concrete, and asphalt repair, as well as maintenance of tools and equipment used to perform these types of work.
  • Valid driver’s license with ability to be covered by company's liability insurance carrier

Working Conditions

Working conditions in the work area can include indoor environments, as well as outdoor environments, which could cause exposure to changing weather conditions; proper environmental attire will be required. Some areas can have loud noise, active machinery, high pressure fluid systems, electrical equipment, confined spaces, heights and depths, fumes, air borne particles, noxious gases, pathogens, and various chemicals. The use of appropriate safety equipment will be mandatory in these areas to prevent hazardous contact. Work assignments may require working a compressed or extended schedule, which may apply during extreme weather event operations.

Physical Requirements

Physical requirements to perform work will include ability to sit, stand, stoop, twist, and bend at the waist, turn, kneel, squat, raise arms above shoulder height, grasp, reach, perform repetitive hand movements and fine coordination to work on equipment, have vision sufficient to maintain equipment, have hearing in the normal range with or without correction. In an 8-hour shift, must be able to walk long distances throughout the facility, lift objects up to 40 pounds from floor level to waist height, climb into and out of vehicles having high ground clearance; work in prone position under vehicles or equipment; wear and use appropriate safety equipment; work alternate shifts to meet client needs.

Physical requirements may include and require the use of ladders and aerial lifts in the performance of work assignments, which may also be completed in a variety of weather conditions. Ladder and aerial lift usage must follow standard safety practices and protocols. Only trained and certified operators may use an aerial lift.
