Key job responsibilities
In this role, as a CNC Prototyping Engineer (Mill-Turn), you will work closely with Mechanical, Manufacturing, and Research teams to develop functional prototypes of complex electro/mechanical systems. You will drive technical innovation of prototyping processes and exhibit consistent high-level of quality and speed. The desired candidate will have experience in a fast paced machining environment and will have the ability to respond quickly to interruptions and requests to support test teams.This position requires strong conceptual development and the proficient use, and implementation, of various manufacturing processes within a prototyping environment. The desired candidate will also help to develop strategies that can be applied to scale products in an efficient manner.Export Control Requirement:
* Bachelors Degree, Associates Degree, or Trades Degree in a relevant engineering discipline OR 7+ years direct experience supporting research/hardware development
* 5+ years implementing advanced machining strategies using computer aided manufacturing (“CAM”) processes for yourself and direct team
* 5+ years machine shop experience operating complex CNC equipment, specifically: Mazak Multi-Axis, Swiss, or Mill-Turn machines
* 2+ years overseeing continuous improvement initiatives by establishing processes and then showing ownership over those areas to conclusion
* Expert knowledge of ESPRIT CAM systems
* High-proficiency of Mazatrol conversational programming
* Experience with electro-mechanical design and related manufacturing process including: complex small-scale mechanical assemblies, Design For Manufacturing, coatings, heat treating, and finishing processes.
* Expert knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
* Expertise using Siemens NX, or other CAD systems
