APPLE INC has the following available in Cupertino, California and various unanticipated locations throughout the USA. Design and validate hardware for Telecommunication Systems. Assess platform-level performance across cellular technologies in the areas of industry conformance, regulatory compliance, carrier and use case requirements. Define test requirements, including designing, implementing in-house test systems and executing validation test cases. Perform failure analysis and make use of experimental SW/FW and mock-up hardware. Collaborate with test equipment vendors, technology suppliers and staff to optimize RF parametric performance. Track validation status, analyze results and communicate issues and insights from data. Perform bench-level wireless testing and debug module, reference board of system level. International Travel Required 5%. 40 hours/week. At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $192,438 - $214,500/yr and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
- Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or related field and 3 years of experience in the job offered or related occupation.
- Experience and/or education must include:
- Analysis of RF component characteristics and behavior in cellular technologies
- Wireless technologies: GSM, UMTS, LTE or 5GNR
- Hardware testing using RF lab equipment: Spectrum analyzer, Network Analyzer, or Power Meter
- Radio Frequency (RF) Receiver (Rx) and Transmitter (Tx) chains and characteristics such as Noise Figure (NF), IIP3, Transmit Power, and Gain.
- Gain, PAE, ACLR, EVM, tx mismatch/loadpull, spurious emission, small signal S-parameter
- Digital pre-distortion (DPD).
