Job Description

U.S. Bank is seeking the position of Quantitative Analyst (Mortgages) (multiple positions) in Hopkins, MN.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Apply quantitative model analytics and technical writing to support different model governance needs and model risk management requirements;
  • Communicate with different stakeholders (Model validation, Business line, Executive Management and Technical Writers) to understand different business needs and define priorities;
  • Provide analytical support to Mortgage Servicing Rights (MSR) valuation & hedging using Polypaths and communicate results to senior management and relevant stakeholders;
  • Work closely with mortgage pipeline risk management on valuations of residential mortgage interest rate locks, loans and hedges using Quantitative Risk Management (QRM);
  • Provide adhoc analysis within vendor systems to support model documentation and validation responses; and
  • Review mortgage model governance framework, including model documentation guideline, CCAR documentation standard, Archer system, model inventory management, and model change management.

Basic Qualifications:

Position requires a Master's degree in Data Science, Finance, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field, and 1 year of experience as a Financial Quantitative Analyst, or a related occupation.

Required Skills/Experience:
Experience must include 1 year of experience with each of the following:

Monitoring and supporting mortgage models including mortgage prepayments, mortgage delinquencies and foreclosures, term structure models, stochastic valuation models, rate lock fallout model and mortgage pipeline valuation models; Conducting best execution analysis, interest rate lock analysis on loan level data and single instrument validation analysis on To‐Be‐Announced securities to validate performance of different behavioral model in QRM (Quantitative Risk Management); Creating and optimizing code to extract swaption volatility data and perform quality assurance checks using R and VBScript; and SQL, Python, Tableau, PolyPaths, SAS.
