Job Title: Power BI QA Specialist - Financial Reporting

We provide reporting solutions/requirements through finance, markets and operations reporting along with cyclical and critical controlling processes such as Forecasting, Financial Planning, Revenue Planning, Markets Leadership Planning and Cash Reporting to help you take better business decisions. With projects like Mercury, we also support business transformation, and we are continuing to expand our services to support all Regions with their reporting and analytics needs.

About the Role:

Job Summary:

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and execute test plans, test cases and test scripts for Power BI reports and dashboards to ensure they meet business requirements and quality standards.
• Perform functional testing across each element of the dashboards to ensure all the visuals, filters and parameters in the alliances suite of dashboards are working as intended
• Perform regression testing to highlight issues resulting for ongoing modifications to dashboards
• Perform data validation, data integrity testing, and data transformation testing to ensure the accuracy of financial metrics before report release.
• Identify, record, and track defects in Power BI solutions, working closely with developers to facilitate timely resolutions.
• Conduct SQL data testing and write SQL scripts for data validation, compare the data source against Power BI dashboards to ensure accuracy.
• Collaborate with the reporting team to understand the financial metrics and KPIs that need to be accurately represented in Power BI reports.
• Conduct performance testing of Power BI dashboards using Performance Analyzer to ensure they perform optimally under various conditions.
• Perform scenario-based testing using Power Automate Desktop and facilitate UAT for completed dashboards before publishing to the wider audience
• Establish automated testing capabilities using tools such as BI Validator, PowerTester and DAX Studio
• Maintain end-to-end documentation for QA methodologies, test cases and results, and defect reports to ensure consistency and knowledge sharing within the team.
• Provide feedback and recommendations to improve the quality and usability of BI solutions
• Attention to detail to spot issue in published reports and newly developed reports.
• Stay current with the latest testing tools, methodologies, and best practices in BI QA.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, finance, or a related field.
• Proven experience in QA testing, specifically with Power BI or similar BI tools.
• Strong knowledge of financial reporting, accounting principles, and financial data analysis.
• Proficiency in SQL and understanding of relational database concepts.
• Experience with test management software and QA methodologies.
• Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.
