Key job responsibilities
The Data Linguist must be capable of:- Localizing established guidelines from English into Dutch
- Developing Dutch grammars and other forms of NLU applications
- Improving deployed grammars by expanding coverage, accuracy, and eliminating bugs
- Delivering high quality data output under aggressive deadlines
- Working autonomously with minimum direction- Contributing to process improvements to reduce handling time and improve data output
- Diving deep into issues and implement solutions independently- Show proactive efforts in addressing issues and problems
- Excellent communication, strong organizational skills and very detail oriented- Willingness to support several projects at one time, and to accept re-prioritization as necessary
- BA or BS degree
- Native level fluency in Dutch
- Business level fluency in English
- 2+ years of experience with language data handling or data markup
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills
- Team player with exceptional interpersonal and solution-oriented attitude
- Ability to quickly grasp technical concepts and learn in-house user-interface tools
- Skilled working knowledge of computer programs: Microsoft Office/Excel, JIRA, Oracle
- BA/BS or Master's degree in Linguistics/Computational Linguistics, or equivalent practical experience in data markup
- Experience working with grammars and other forms of speech or NLP technology
- Experience with command line tools
- Practical knowledge of data processing needs and trade-offs
