Job Description
This senior level role will be part of the Front-to-Back review team responsible for assessing and validating sourcing, calculations, aggregation and reporting of Credit Risk RWA components against Basel rules across all exposure types. The team will be responsible for Citigroup and CBNA level RWA analysis for Advanced and Standardized approaches. This includes (i) reviewing computational methodologies used to determine RWAs, including any assumptions, interpretations and/or models used to make those determinations, (ii) ensuring accurate implementation of those methodologies and controls within Citi’s infrastructure and processes, (iii) ensuring models are fit for Basel purposes, have been validated and accurately implemented, (iv) reviewing Business and Functional requirements including performing end to end data validation against regulatory capital requirements.
This role will be responsible for:
- Enforcing consistency across all exposures by defining a set of minimum standards, expectations and examples. Designing and formalizing an approach document with clear success criteria.
- Drafting a project plan capturing key deliverables, expected milestones, roles and responsibilities.
- Establishing quality control checks on created deliverables by conducting relevant review and challenge sessions across teams.
- Facilitating and coordinating self-identified issues across all exposures
Responsibilities:
- Experience with quality control / audit type activities focusing on implementation in accordance with regulatory rules
- Ability to independently review and challenge existing processes/controls and identify key risks and issues.
- Solid understanding of Advanced and Standardized US Basel regulatory capital rules across exposures or strong capital markets product knowledge
- Experience with regulatory capital processes best practices and controls at other financial institutions
- Ability to work with multiple systems and sources of data, gather required evidence to conduct formal reviews and document findings
- Exceptional oral communication and writing skills, with ability to synthesize complex concepts, and translate into "user-friendly" language for multiple audiences, including senior management, multiple internal constituents and regulators
- Solid Microsoft Excel skills and the ability to develop advanced knowledge of MS Excel and Access (or other database front-end query applications).
- Regularly interact with peers within the Controllers group as well as other departments (e.g. Technology)
Qualifications:
- 8-10 years of relevant experience, within the financial services industry highly preferred
- Requires a comprehensive understanding of multiple areas within a function and how they interact in order to achieve the objectives of the function.
- Requires communication and diplomacy skills in order to guide and influence others.
- Experience and demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities in a complex and dynamic environment
- Self-motivated with the ability to make decisions in the absence of detailed instructions.
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills
- In depth knowledge of banking products / systems highly preferred.
- CPA preferred
