Senior Research Chemist
The Impact You’ll Make in this Role
As a Senior Research Chemist for Industrial Mineral Products Division, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:
Support and contribute as a technical lead for discovery and new product development activities with an expertise in inorganic chemistry, material science and/or ceramics
Fundamentals in inorganic chemistry to leverage product formulations and effects of materials on natural weathering
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and solve complex problems and to apply/implement new or modified chemistries
Willingness to be flexible across functions and explore new areas for roofing granule technology
Your Skills and Expertise
To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:
Master’s degree or higher in Chemistry and/or Material Science (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution
Three (3) years of inorganic chemistry, material science and/or ceramics in a private, public, government or military environment
Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:
Ph.D. in Chemistry, Ceramics or Materials Science degree or higher from an accredited institution
Data science and/or programming skills to analyze data
