We are seeking a Geotechnical Engineer to join our established team. Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Perform geotechnical field explorations, including test borings, rock coring, test pits, cone penetration testing, hand augers, and other methods.
- Perform construction monitoring of earth retaining structures, deep foundations (drilled shafts, piles), and shallow foundations.
- Prepare boring logs and subsurface profiles.
- Design of shallow and deep foundations and earth-retaining structures.
- Perform liquefaction and consolidation settlement analyses.
- Perform geotechnical analyses with computer programs such as: SETTLE3D, APILE, LPILE, GROUP, GRLWEAP, DeepEx, SLIDE or SLOPE/W, MATHCAD, FB-Multipier
- Perform Finite Element modeling using PLAXIS and or FLAC.
- Develop geotechnical reports.
- Design Ground Improvement including deep soil mixing, rigid inclusions, chemical.
- Develop Contract documents including drawings and specifications.
- Work in collaborative multi-disciplinary teams from across North America.
- Possess an outgoing and positive attitude, are dependable, and meet all assigned project deadlines.
- Display strong communication and interpersonal skills and have the ability to work in a fast-paced team environment with multiple deadlines.
Here's what you'll need
- Bachelors of Science in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited school
- 1-5 years of experience on geotechnical projects in the US
- Willingness and flexibility to travel nationally for work
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Computer skills including CADD, and Microsoft Office
- A valid US driver’s license and reliable vehicle
Ideally, You’ll Also Have:
- Master of Science degree with emphasis on Geotechnical Engineering
- Design experience with transportation and water infrastructures
