At MIM Software, Research and Development Interns work closely with our research and engineering staff to apply novel algorithms to real-world problems in medical imaging, with a focus on registration and segmentation problems in radiology and radiation oncology. Interns are responsible for the analysis, implementation, and validation of practical methods to aid decision-making processes.
Job DescriptionWhat You’ll Do:
- Work independently and as part of a larger team within our research and engineering groups to develop novel algorithms in medical imaging.
- Perform analysis and validation on MIM's software products.
- Develop prototype algorithms using tools such as Python or MATLAB.
- Communicate research results and hypotheses within the MIM community of researchers.
- Help other employees based on project needs and the intern's interest.
What You’ll Need:
- Must be pursuing a bachelor's degree or higher in a computer science, biomedical engineering, applied math, or another algorithmic-centric discipline.
- Should have experience in medical imaging, numerical methods, machine learning, or registration and segmentation algorithms.
- Should have programming experience in Java, MATLAB, or Python and be familiar with common scientific or numerical packages or libraries.
- Must have strong interpersonal communication skills, as well as intellectual curiosity
