Key Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Maps Automation: Develop, implement, and optimize generative AI models to automate map creation, enhance spatial data accuracy, and enrich the map's visual and contextual quality in real time using multi-model data and crowdsourced input.User-Centric AI Features: Design and deploy AI-powered features that improve exploration, discovery, navigation, deliver personalized recommendations, and support accessibility for diverse users.Scalability & Optimization: Create scalable AI solutions to handle global map data, ensuring reliability and consistency across various geographies and cultures.Emerging Technologies: Explore and apply state-of-the-art advancements in multi-model generative AI, deep learning, and natural language processing to create unique, future-ready mapping experiences.
Minimum Qualifications
- MS in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning or equivalent field with 10+ years of applied AI research and product development experience
- Proven experience in Generative AI/LLMs/Foundation Models with a proven track record of deploying solutions in production
- Strong programming experience in one or more of the following: Java, C++, Python
- Experience with ML frameworks like TensorFlow or PyTorch
- Strong collaboration driven track record of execution and delivery
- Familiarity with privacy-preserving techniques, ethical AI practices and responsible AI deployment.
- Deliver as a technical team lead; guiding a set of engineers and applied scientists
- Exceptional problem-solving and analytical skills with the ability to tackle complex, large-scale challenges
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with executive presence
Preferred Qualifications
- PhD in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, or equivalent field
- Experience working with geospatial data, computer vision or natural language processing for real-world applications
- Desire to tackle meaningful problems which lie at the intersection of user-experience, big data processing and computational algorithms
- Understanding of Apple’s ecosystem and services is a plus
- Alignment with Apple's philosophy of privacy and data security
Pay & Benefits
- At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $207,800 and $378,700, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.Note: Apple benefit, compensation and employee stock programs are subject to eligibility requirements and other terms of the applicable plan or program.
