We are seeking a dynamic Glazing Platform Development Engineer to become a pivotal player in the automotive glazing industry. Accelerate Portfolio Growth: Identify emerging technical trends and customer needs to guide our product development strategy, resulting in a robust portfolio that drives growth and captures new market opportunities.

In this role, your contributions will be pivotal in driving our company's growth and maintaining our competitive edge in the market. You will have the opportunity to:
Lead Technical Strategy Development: Spearhead the creation and execution of a comprehensive technical strategy that aligns with industry trends and customer expectations, ensuring that our glazing solutions set the standard for quality and innovation.
Implement Cutting-Edge Solutions: Apply your expertise to develop and integrate state-of-the-art glazing technologies that meet the complex demands of Tier 1 suppliers and OEMs, while also enhancing our product performance and customer satisfaction.
Support Cross-Functional Teams: Collaborate with R&D, sales, marketing, and production teams to provide technical guidance and support, ensuring that our projects are delivered on time, within budget, and with the highest level of quality.
To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution
Three (3) years of R&D development experience with an Automotive OEM or Tier 1/2 Glazing Supplier in a private, public, government or military environment
Master's or Ph.D. degree in relevant engineering discipline from an accredited institution
Five (5) years of R&D development experience with an Automotive OEM or Tier 1/2 Glazing Supplier in a private, public, government or military environment
Skills include:
Strong background in materials science, mechanical engineering, or a related field with a focus on glass or polymer science as it applies to automotive glazing.
Proven experience in product development from concept to commercialization, particularly in the automotive industry.
Knowledge of manufacturing processes relevant to automotive glazing, such as lamination, glass processing or coating technologies.
Deep understanding of automotive supply chain, requirements and regulations.
Strong communication, problem solving, and relationship building skills with proven experience working in a cross-functional, global organizations.
Innovation-driven mindset with a customer-focused approach.
Experience with business development, entrepreneurship, and strategic planning to develop a new portfolio.
