Essential Responsibilities:

  • Leverage specialized security expertise to identify and resolve complex security issues, recommending best practices and determining new approaches that have an impact on broader security operations, while aligning security strategies with business priorities
  • Partner across teams and key stakeholders to drive security initiatives, leading and solutioning complex projects and programs to strengthen overall security posture.
  • Apply advanced analytical skills and sound judgment to solve security challenges, considering diverse perspectives and innovative solutions. Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies, understanding their security implications to the company’s context.
  • Directly contribute to improvements within the security domain and occasionally beyond, ensuring decisions lead to meaningful enhancements in security practices.
  • Leverage relationships across teams, both within and outside of security, to influence initiatives and integrate feedback into security processes.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 8 years of relevant work experience and a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.

Preferred Qualification:

Automating security checks and remediation processes within the CI/CD pipeline streamlines our security operations and ensures continuous monitoring and compliance. This efficiency allows us to identify and address security issues early in the development process, minimizing potential disruptions and enhancing productivity.

Your day to day

  • Integrating security scans and vulnerability checks into the CI/CD pipeline.

  • Reviewing and enforcing security policies within automation scripts.

  • Investigating security incidents and coordinating response actions

  • Reviewing/help with enforcing security configurations on servers, networks, and cloud environments

  • Implementing security best practices for containerized applications

  • Designing and implementing security architectures for new applications and systems

  • Evaluating new security technologies and tools, staying up-to-date with emerging security trends and standards

  • Always promoting a security-first culture within the organization

  • Serve as an SME for Docker, Kubernetes implementations and champion how we can move existing infrastructure to containerized orchestration like GKE and Genesis.

  • Serve as an SME for diverse flavors of Linux and provide insight on how different applications interact and use kernel resources to ensure applications function as expected.

What you need to bring

Technical Expertise:

Strong understanding of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes), scripting languages (Python, Bash), and CI/CD pipelines.

Security Knowledge:

Deep knowledge of security concepts like authentication, authorization, encryption, vulnerability management, network security, and application security.

DevOps Experience:

Proven experience in DevOps practices, including infrastructure as code, continuous integration, and continuous delivery.

Security Tools Proficiency:

Familiarity with security tools such as vulnerability scanners, web application firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, SIEM solutions, and security orchestration platforms.

Problem-Solving Skills:

Ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues related to security and DevOps within a fast-paced environment.
