The Impact You’ll Make in this Role
As a Sleeve Fabricator Operator*, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:
- Performing spot welding and laser welding of extended assemblies, gyrotrons, stems, heat shields to lip brazes, low temp wire brazes, heli-arc welding of components and forming of heater ground leads. Also use a gas torch and laser washes nickel into the overwind on heater leads.
- Rolling, spot welding, cleaning and inspection of Mo/Re sleeves with different thickness. Fabricating and forming cone, moly, tantalum, hastelloy, kovar, nickel and stainless steel sleeves. Spot welding ground leads.
- Microscope, measuring equipment, small hand tools, scales, brushes, and etc. while working in restricted space is also an essential element of the position. Also learn how to use laser welding equipment and weld components together, inspecting run out on comparator turntable
- Overwind room – Make overwind for heaters along with coating them.
Your Skills and Expertise
To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M is looking for candidates who must have the followingqualifications:
- Possess a High School Diploma/GED or higher
Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:
- Previous Lexington South Fab experience.
- Able to read and interpret written operating instructions (method sheets and blueprints), measuring tools (calipers and micrometers), decimal numbering and perform four function math
- Eye/hand coordination is required to manipulate parts.
Pay & Benefits:
- The starting rate of pay for this position is $19.10, with potential to reach $24.93.
