Background in semiconductor technology through academic training and industry experience
Deep understanding of Silicon package design and failure mechanisms
Failure analysis techniques such as optical microscopy, x-ray or CT scans, scanning electron microscopy, FTIR spectroscopy, mass spectrometry, FIB, laser etching, LiT, etc.
Application of Design of Experiments and Failure Modes and Effects Analysis
Excellent written and verbal communication skills for audiences ranging from technicians to senior executives
Extraordinary problem-solving abilities with strong attention to fine details
Experience in developing and performing environmental and mechanical stress tests including shock, drop, and vibration
Ability to travel unrestricted
And most importantly, passion for building reliable products
Education & Experience
M.S or PhD in Electrical/Mechanical/Materials Engineering or Physical Sciences and 4+ years of experience in a related field or industry

At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $170,700.00 and $300,200.00, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.Note: Apple benefit, compensation and employee stock programs are subject to eligibility requirements and other terms of the applicable plan or program.
