The Senior Manager - Program Assurance oversees and ensures the successful implementation of IT systems focusing on finance transformation projects. Leading quality assurance efforts and managing program risks, they collaborate closely with finance stakeholders to ensure alignment with project goals and stakeholder requirements.
Your responsibilities include defining objectives and related procedures, developing tailored assessment processes, monitoring benefits realization, and implementing risk mitigation strategies. By overseeing testing and identifying issues related to technology, people and process, they play a crucial role in driving the success of implementation programs or projects, particularly in achieving finance-related objectives and delivering expected business value.
Your key responsibilities
- Lead the quality assurance efforts throughout the finance transformation journey, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives and realization of anticipated benefits.
- Develop and implement quality assurance processes, procedures, and metrics tailored to finance transformation initiatives, with a focus on maximizing ROI and stakeholder satisfaction.
- Collaborate closely with finance, accounting, and other business stakeholders to define key performance indicators (KPIs), objectives, and success criteria for finance transformation projects.
- Conduct comprehensive reviews and assessments of finance processes, systems, and controls to identify opportunities for improvement and optimization.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to develop and execute test plans, scenarios, and scripts to validate system configurations and ensure alignment with finance transformation objectives.
- Proactively identify, assess, and manage program risks related to finance transformation initiatives, including potential impacts on financial reporting, compliance, and organizational performance.
- Monitor and track the realization of anticipated benefits from finance transformation projects, identifying variances and discrepancies, and recommending corrective actions as needed.
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels to provide updates on quality assurance activities, program risks, benefits realization, and mitigation efforts.
Skills and attributes for success
- Proven experience in ERP or EPM implementation projects, with a focus on finance transformation and benefits realization (such as Implementation of SAP S/4, Oracle Fusion, Microsoft Dynamics OneStream, Oracle HFM, SAP GR)
- Experience in Quality Assurance, Internal or External Audit focusing on Project Assurance is a plus.
- Strong understanding of finance processes, principles, and best practices, with experience in financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and analysis.
- Proficiency in quality assurance methodologies, tools, and techniques, with experience in test planning, execution, and defect management.
- Proven experience in project management, a related certification favorable.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with the ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
- Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively across functional areas.
- Ability to summarize complex issues and articulate tangible and proportionate recommendations to Senior Leadership
- Relevant certifications (e.g., SAP certifications, CPA, CMA, PMP) are a plus.
