Your Role and Responsibilities As a Program Director, you will be a second-line manager in the IBM Storage Ceph team in India. IBM® Storage Ceph® is a software-defined storage platform that consolidates block, file and object storage to help organizations eliminate data silos and deliver a cloud-like experience while retaining the cost benefits and data sovereignty advantages of on-premises IT. You will be leading development team working on various areas of Ceph product. You will be part of a global development team with large groups based in Germany, the US, UK Israel and in India in Pune and Bangalore.
Responsibilities:
People management of Managers and Senior Technical members across development
Planning and delivering the IBM Storage Ceph roadmap
Interlock with global stakeholders to help shape strategy and business direction
Hiring, development, and retention of the best talent within our industry.
Collaboration with teams across multiple geographies and time zones, including development managers, release managers, and project managers.
Capex budget planning and management for hardware needs.
Creation and execution of team-level initiatives for innovation, skill development, customer engagement, etc.
Interlock with the Product management team in roadmap planning and decision-making.
Champion Agile methodology and design thinking approach across all the deliveries.
Plan and execute early customer engagements through Beta, Playbacks, and POCs.
Ensure team compliance with IBM corporation-wide processes and guidelines.
Required Technical and Professional Expertise
15+ years of experience in IT industry
5+ years of managing technical teams of 25+ or more employees
Demonstrated ability to deliver or support technical product offerings
Ability to communicate with C suite
Technical and project management experience in the areas of systems – system design, Storage systems, Networking Protocols, firmware, Operating systems, virtualization, Kubernetes and cloud etc
You have experience in driving process transformation and innovation in the teams.
