Key Responsibilities

  • Lead technical product marketing for assigned customers and products

  • Build and grow trusting relationships with automotive customers

  • Prepare and present concise and convincing product presentations and technology demonstrations

  • Initiate and execute partner and customer collaborations

  • Communicate automotive product offerings, strategies, and solution proposals to various audiences with vastly differing product or domain knowledge

  • Contribute to development of global auto product marketing strategies

  • Support the development of product and technology promotions and communications

  • Learn and understand customer organizations, including developing and managing relationships across the technical and commercial groups, from working level to leadership

  • Develop and maintain a deep and dynamic understanding of the customer’s business and technical objectives, strategies, and capabilities, and ensure ongoing alignment with Qualcomm automotive business objectives

  • Support business acquisitions for telematics, in-vehicle infotainment, ADAS/Autonomy, connectivity, cellular V2X, car-to-cloud, and other automotive product lines and offerings

  • Incubate new business and revenue opportunities jointly with Qualcomm’s automotive business unit

  • Work across multiple organizations and disciplines within Qualcomm including sales, engineering, product management and other business unit functions

  • Travel to customers in North America

  • Background and industry expertise in automotive, including areas such as ADAS/AD, AI/ML, In-Vehicle Infotainment, Cellular-enabled technologies and new and emerging service models.

  • Experience in analyzing customer requirements and translating these into product specifications for Hardware and Software

  • Track record of leadership, team-building, and cross-functional collaboration

  • Ability to think and plan globally, and then execute within the North American region

  • Experience in automotive electronics and software

  • Demonstrated experience in building trusting relationships with key customer stakeholders

  • Ability to create and drive the “new and different”: create ideas for new component and system solutions, and assessing multiple possible outcomes

  • High level of relentless curiosity about technology and business models in the automotive and semiconductor industries

  • Ability to gain support for translating new ideas into technology solutions

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree and 9+ years of Product Marketing, Marketing, Business, Engineering, Communications, or related work experience.

Associate's degree or equivalent degree and 11+ years of Product Marketing, Marketing, Business, Engineering, Communications, or related work experience.

High school Diploma or equivalent and 13+ years of Product Marketing, Marketing, Business, Engineering, Communications, or related work experience.

*Completed advanced degrees in a relevant field may be substituted for up to two years (Master’s = one year, Doctorate = two years) of work experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in technology or business

  • 10+ years in Product Marketing or related work experience

  • 5+ years of experience in customer-facing front line roles

  • 5+ years of experience in automotive or semiconductor industries

  • 5+ years of leadership experience

  • Proven experience in creating business development strategies

  • Proven understanding of vehicle systems for ADAS/AD, in-vehicle infotainment/digital cockpit, telematics, connectivity, SW, and Services

  • Understanding of AI/ML technologies and applications

  • Demonstrated experience with automotive OEMs as customers

  • Experience promoting software and services, either stand-alone or as part of a system solution

Analytical Skills:The ability to collect information and identify fundamental patterns/trends in data. This includes the ability to gather, integrate, and interpret information from several sources.

Communication:The ability to convey information clearly and accurately, as well as choosing the most effective method of delivery (e.g., email, phone, face-to-face). This includes using a technically sound communication style both verbally and in writing.

Creating the New and Different: The ability to be creative. This includes the ability to produce breakthrough ideas, being a visionary, managing innovation, seeing multiple futures, having broad interests and knowledge, and gaining support in order to translate new ideas into solutions. This also includes the ability to plan and implement unconventional ideas and speculate about alternative futures without all of the data.

Getting Work Done: The ability to be organized, resourceful, and planful. This includes the ability to leverage multiple resources to get things done and lay out tasks in sufficient detail. This also includes the ability to get things done with fewer resources and in less time, work on multiple tasks at once without losing track, and foresee and plan around obstacles.


Project Management: Knowledge of project management methodology (e.g., planning, scheduling, tracking, execution). This includes the ability to effectively use project management tools.

Pay range:

$224,500.00 - $336,500.00
