You will report directly to our Machining Supervisor and work on-site at our Phoenix Sky Harbor location. In this role, you will have a direct impact on the efficiency and productivity of our repair and overhaul processes by operating and maintaining our machining equipment to meet the stringent quality standards and customer requirements of the aviation industry. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES • Set up and operate CNC machines to perform machining operations according to specifications
• Monitor machine performance and make necessary adjustments to ensure quality and efficiency
• Inspect finished parts to ensure they meet the strict quality standards and specifications of the aviation industry
• Troubleshoot and resolve machining issues to minimize downtime and maintain production schedules
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including technicians and engineers, to optimize repair and overhaul processes
All applicants for placement in DOT/FAA safety-sensitive positions will be required to submit to a pre-employment drug test, testing for Marijuana, Cocaine, Amphetamines (amphetamine, methamphetamine, MDMA, MDA), Phencyclidine (PCP), and Opioids (codeine, heroin, morphine, oxycodone, oxymorphone, hydrocodone, hydromorphone). The DOT/FAA regulations require all employees, regular and temporary, in safety-sensitive positions, to be included in the Honeywell Anti-drug and Alcohol Misuse Prevention Plan.
U.S. PERSON REQUIREMENTSYOU MUST HAVE
• High school diploma or GED equivalent
• Minimum of 5 years of experience as a machinist, with expertise in operating CNC machines
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints and technical drawings specific to aviation components
• Strong knowledge of machining processes and equipment used in aviation repair and overhaul
• Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
• Swing Shift: 2:30pm - 11:00pm, Monday - Friday.
WE VALUE
• Technical certification or associate degree in machining or a related field
• Experience with programming and editing CNC programs for aviation components
• Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and their application in aviation repair and overhaul
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in meeting aviation industry standards
• Effective communication and teamwork skills for collaboration with technicians and engineers
• FAA Repair and overhaul experience
• A&P License (Airframe and Powerplant License)
• Experience with SAP ERP systems in an aviation repair and overhaul environment
• Knowledge and experience with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
• Strong commitment to safety protocols and procedures in aviation maintenance and repair operations
