As Project Manager, Logistics Excellence you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:

  • Lead Continuous Improvement Initiatives : Identify, plan, and execute projects to enhance operational efficiency, reduce costs, and improve service levels in distribution centers.
  • Utilize a Broad Range of Improvement Methodologies : Apply various methodologies such as Lean, Six Sigma, Quality management, Kaizen, and other industry best practices to streamline processes and drive quality improvements.
  • Conduct Process Analysis and Optimization : Analyze current processes, identify inefficiencies, and develop optimized workflows to improve performance.
  • Collaborate with Cross-Functional Teams : Work closely with operations, logistics, IT, and quality teams to ensure successful implementation of improvement initiatives.
  • Develop and Monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) : Establish and track KPIs to measure project success, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions.
  • Facilitate Training and Development Programs : Conduct training sessions to educate staff on continuous improvement methodologies, tools, and best practices.
  • Manage Project Timelines and Deliverables : Oversee project timelines, deliverables, and resources to ensure initiatives are completed on time and within scope.
  • Drive Technology and Automation Integration : Identify and implement opportunities for technology and automation to enhance efficiency and reduce manual processes.
  • Support New Distribution Center Openings : Plan and execute new distribution center openings, ensuring optimized processes and technologies are in place.
  • Optimize Transportation and Logistics Operations : Work on transportation optimization projects to improve logistics efficiency and cost-effectiveness.

Your Skills and Expertise

To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in supply chain, Industrial engineering, finance or business (completed and verified prior to start)
  • Eight (8) years of work experience in supply chain, distribution or logistics in a private, public, government or military environment
  • Three (3) years of experience specifically in project leadership or operations excellence.

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:

  • PMP certification or Project Management/ Lean Six Sigma certification.
  • Certifications in CSCP, CLTD, SC Pro or APICS
  • Experience with implementing Automation in Fulfillment/ Distribution centers
  • Transformation management.
  • Problem-Solving Skills : Demonstrated ability to analyze complex systems and processes, identify inefficiencies, and develop innovative engineering solutions to drive improvements.
  • Communication and Leadership : Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively present ideas and influence decision-making. Strong leadership and teamwork abilities, with a proven track record of successfully managing cross-functional projects.
