Following is a summary of the essential functions for this job. Other duties may be performed, both major and minor, which are not mentioned below. Specific activities may change from time to time.

1. Provides thought leadership and serves as a leader, collaborator, innovator, champion and subject matter expert

2. Drives the strategy, expansion, administration and lifecycle management of Splunk, including automation strategies

3. Explores new capabilities of Splunk or complementary products to enhance the analytic capabilities of Splunk

4. Builds out, documents, solicits and establishes Splunk patterns and procedures that support Truist cloud, on-premise, and container-based needs for data access, retention and isolation

5. Educates others on current architectural standards and guidelines to drive efficiency when leading the design efforts of complex business and enterprise software solutions.

6. Evangelizes capabilities of Splunk and drive adoption within Truist Recommends and performs upgrades to Splunk components to stay current/gain capabilities of the platform

7. Leads requirement discussions for complex solutions with consumers of Splunk Enterprise to determine scope and feasibility

8. Interprets and applies new technical and system capabilities as needed to provide updates, enhancements, and modifications to an existing Splunk environment.

10. Builds and troubleshoots Splunk Infrastructure and associated data feeds in a Linux environment.

11. Performs troubleshooting of existing feeds that are no longer collecting data (quiet source monitoring).

12. Integrates data streams, feeds from network, infrastructure services, mission critical/business applications into Splunk using the Splunk Universal Forwarder, Syslog, Splunk Heavy Forwarders and Splunk HEC Clusters.

1. Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, CIS, or related field
2. Fifteen+ years of experience in software development or a related field
3. Fifteen+ years of experience in database technologies
4. Fifteen+ years of experience working on project(s) involving the implementation of solutions applying development life cycles (SDLC)


Preferred Qualifications:

1.Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, CIS, or related field , Master's Degree preferred

2. Current Certification as a Splunk Architect

3. 5+ years of experience as an Architect for large Splunk Enterprise environments

4. Demonstrated capability to architect, implement, connect, and support a Hybrid Splunk environment that spans multiple Datacenters, including on-premise, Azure, AWS, GCP and Splunk Cloud

5. 8+ years of experience with complex Splunk Deployment strategies that include standard and tiered Splunk deployment model

6. 8+ years of experience building, troubleshooting and supporting Splunk Infrastructure and associated data feeds in a clustered, multi-site Linux environment

7. 8+ years of experience onboarding data to Splunk Enterprise (Hosted on-Premise)

8. 2+ years of experience supporting AWS and/or Azure cloud hosted Splunk Enterprise environments

9. 3+ years of experience with complex Splunk Deployment strategies that include GitLab/GitHub, Ansible and/or Cribl.

10. 12+ years of experience with complex Splunk Deployment strategies that include standard and tiered Splunk deployment model

11.Extensive automation experienceMore than 4 years of experience with AWS and/or Azure cloud Splunk environments.

Up to 25 lbs.Able to access and interpret client information received from the computer and able to hear and speak with individuals in person and on the phone.Able to work standard office equipment, including PC keyboard and mouse, copy/fax machines, and printers.Able to work all hours scheduled, including overtime as directed by manager/supervisor and required by business need.
