Government and Public Sector – Associate Director FP&A, Financial Integration
In this role with EY GPS’s Finance COE, you will lead in a range of finance and accounting matters and spearhead GPS financial support of acquisition due diligence, pre-deal planning and post-deal integration. You will bring expertise with deep Finance & Accounting experience in a government contracting environment, combined with Private Equity or other M&A knowledge. You will be a vital member of the team managing and executing M&A projects for GPS, focused on the Finance agenda and function. You’ll support our client service team in developing and executing strategies for transactions and ensuring their success, ultimately enabling GPS to accomplish its long term strategic growth targets.
Your key responsibilities
- Lead across finance departments in planning and executing operational diligence and acquisition integration initiatives
- Provide Finance & Accounting function support to the overall organization’s strategic priorities during and immediately after a transaction
- Responsible to coordinate and prepare Day 1 readiness planning, 100-day post-close planning and execution
- Depending on the size and nature of the acquisition, own or support valuation model development and/or synergy identification
- Depending on the size of the integration, lead or support the Finance workstream, including development of Finance & Accounting functional integrated planning and execution activities, with heavy focus on cross-functional interdependencies, risks and risk mitigation
- Facilitate due diligence activities focused on identifying operational and technology strategy, organizational structures, and current state business processes and supporting technology
- Support enhancement of EY GPS’s acquisition methodologies (diligence, planning, and integration) and approaches to execution and reporting
- Leads by thinking strategically acting operationally and demonstrating an ability to manage ambiguity, risk, and changing direction of projects and strategies.
- Serve as a key participant in planning for post-close financial migration from legacy system to EY systems. Work cross-functionally with internal and external stakeholders to ensure success of system migration.
- When in between acquisition activities, lead or participate in other Finance & Accountinginitiatives and projects.
- Highly analytical and detail oriented, with the ability to see both big picture and the finer details
- Demonstrated ability to advise the business on levers that optimize revenue and profit.
- Working knowledge of cost accounting concepts and the typical cost elements underlying technology offerings
- Passion for “telling a story” and driving to conclusions and recommendations using financial data and insights
- High degree of innate curiosity and self-motivation
- Performs duties and responsibilities with minimal supervision / high degree of independence and autonomy, and drives to results

- A bachelor’s degree in finance, Economics, Accounting, or related field; advanced degree in business or data analytics preferred
- Minimum of 10+ years of professional experience working in Finance function in acquisition integration, business transformation and change management
- Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance, if necessary
- Detailed knowledge of and experience in the government contractor Finance & Accounting function, preferably within the context of CAS compliance.
- Knowledge of and experience with financial systems such as Costpoint, SAP, Unanet, Oracle, Hyperion and/or other common ERP systems
- Consulting firm / industry experience preferred
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills to influence both internal and external relationships
- Superior problem-solving and analytical skills that can be utilized to translate disparate data into meaningful insights
- Prior experience serving interim or permanent finance roles at a senior level (e.g. VP or Director of Finance).
- Familiarity with both professional services and product/solution/managed services business models is ideal.
- Experience working in a highly matrixed environment and influencing without direct control
Ideally, you'll also have
- CPA, CMA or CFA preferred.

The base salary range for this job in all geographic locations in the US is $123,600 to $238,000. The salary range for New York City Metro Area, Washington State and California (excluding Sacramento) is $148,400 to $270,500. Individual salaries within those ranges are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills and geography.
