What a typical day looks like:
- Meet business and individual objectives, including material cost downs, payment terms improvement, best value country sourcing objectives, inventory management as well as others.
- Collaborate with Global Commodity Managers and drive the cost reductions.
- Manage all supplier relationships within assigned commodities, including globally.
- Understands Global & Regional Mechanical commodity also its supplier base thoroughly.
- Work closely with Engineering to influence technical design decisions to meet technical capabilities, cost, and business objectives.
- Develop a commodity / Supplier Strategy’s technology roadmaps, aligning business requirements with supplier capabilities.
- Ensure a competitive sourcing environment leading to continuous improvement in quality, cost, service and technology. Regular BOM and Component Cost reviews.
- Sets category strategies, goals and KPIs to optimize spend, reduce risk and improve supplier performance and influences business partner strategy and decision making through market intel and data insights
- Ability to work under pressure and in a complex global environment balancing a broad spectrum of stakeholder requirements
- Ensure timely updation of all Commodity influenced databases to support financial/product cost tracking and analytics Like – Item Master, Pricing Database, LTs , MOQs, NCNR terms and conditions influencing total cost.
- Execute strategic sourcing partnerships to deliver on cost reduction, spend consolidation, improved DPO, Inventory and improved quality
- Able to pull reports from MicroStrategy and Kinaxis to work on multiple spend related data to identify opportunities to improve PPV and CR.
- Passion for continuous improvement in process.
The experience we’re looking to add to our team:
- BE in Mechanical (or) related Engineering.
- MBA in supply chain/operations management is an advantage.
- Strong knowledge about mechanical commodities
- Experience working in Auto/Manufacturing industry.
- Expert in English Communication and presentation skills.
- Good Knowledge on MS Office tools, MicroStrategy, Kinaxis preferred.
- Strong analytical skills and logical thinking
- Expertise to work on should cost Model, PCB Gerber evaluation and other cost models.
