Your key responsibilities
You will be part of a team working across geographies and industries to deliver service offerings over sustainability or ESG metrics, including limited and reasonable assurance, pre-assessments, and agreed-upon procedures. In this role, your key responsibilities will include:
- Understanding client processes and designing and executing assurance procedures to address key risks in accordance with ISAE 3000 and ISAE 3410 standards (or Canadian equivalent)
- Identifying gaps in data, calculation methodologies, processes, controls, and disclosures to provide findings and recommendations
- Assisting in the planning of the engagement and monitoring progress against the plan and ensuring key stakeholders are kept informed about progress and expected outcomes
- Building and maintaining strong working relationships with clients and colleagues at all levels
- Using technology to continually learn, share knowledge with team members, and enhance service delivery
- Preparing high-quality internal work products and client deliverables, including written reports, presentation materials, and proposals
- Staying informed of current business and industry trends in sustainability, including regulatory reporting developments, relevant to our clients
- Conducting research and benchmarking to develop insights and leading practices
Skills and attributes for success
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, Sustainability, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field
- 3+ years of experience executing financial and/or sustainability assurance services or sustainability reporting
- Base knowledge of, and desire to continue to expand technical expertise in, relevant sustainability reporting standards and frameworks (e.g., GHG Protocol, PCAF, GRI, SASB, ISSB, TCFD, etc.)
- Strong analytical skills and ability to develop insights from data and research
- Exemplary verbal and written communication skills and ability to summarize findings and recommendations effectively and concisely in deliverables
- Self-starter who takes ownership for tasks and team performance and can manage working on multiple engagements concurrently
- Team player and leader that can successfully guide the work of others and is committed to achieving common goals
- Professionalism and poise in working with and presenting to clients and colleagues
- Proficient in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
- CPA designation is considered an asset
- Accreditation and/or training on ISO 14064-3 and ISO 14065 is considered an asset
- This role involves interaction with clients operating nationally, fluency in French is considered an asset, but not a requirement for this position.
