As a Sr. Analyst, you will play a crucial role in protecting our users and platform from online safety risks. You will leverage your analytical skills and expertise to identify trends, assess threats, and develop data-driven solutions to enhance our safety strategies. This role requires a strong analytical mindset, a deep understanding of online safety challenges, and excellent communication skills.
What you will do:
- Data Analysis and Reporting: Conduct in-depth analysis of large datasets to identify trends, patterns, and anomalies related to online abuse, fraud, and other safety issues. Develop and maintain reports, dashboards, and visualizations to communicate findings to stakeholders and leadership. Utilize statistical methods and models to interpret data, perform hypothesis testing, and drive data-driven decision-making. Ensure data integrity through cleaning, validation, and transformation processes.
- Risk Identification and Mitigation: Research and analyze emerging fraud trends and security threats to proactively identify and address potential risks. Develop and implement strategies to counter threats and vulnerabilities, including building rules and models to detect and prevent risky behaviors. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and build anti-abuse protections and counter-abuse strategies.
- Operational Support and Improvement: Support quality assurance processes, including auditing, root cause analysis, and calibration. Analyze operational performance, identify pain points and areas of opportunity, and leverage analytics to generate solutions and recommendations. Partner with internal and external teams to drive quality improvement strategies.
- Communication and Collaboration: Communicate effectively with technical and non-technical audiences, both verbally and in writing. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements, present analysis results, and provide data-driven recommendations. Work closely with stakeholders to define business requirements and analytical needs.
- Tooling and Automation: Own, manage, and advocate for the development of new tools to support data analysis and reporting processes. Develop and maintain scalable, automated dashboards and reports to track key performance indicators and progress against goals. Support the creation of tooling and dashboards for relevant departments.
Skills and knowledge you should possess:
- 5+ years of experience in performing in-depth qualitative and quantitative analysis to inform UGC platform safety strategies and content moderator performance.
- Previous experience with Trust & Safety, including subject matter expertise on online safety challenges and best practices.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in data analysis tools and techniques (e.g., SQL, Python, R, Tableau, Snowflake, PHP, Looker, Amplitude).
- Experience with statistical analysis and modeling. Excellent communication and presentation skills.
Bonus Points:
- Experience with specific online safety issues relevant to Vimeo's platform (e.g., copyright infringement, hate speech, misinformation).
- Familiarity with specific legal and regulatory frameworks (e.g., COPPA, GDPR, CDA Section 230).
Base Salary Range:
- NYC Metro, Bay Area, Seattle, & Los Angeles: $118,000 - $162,500
- All other US cities outside above metro areas: $106,200 - $146,250
