- Recruiting, developing talent, and managing the performance of a team of EHS professionals.
- Supporting team members in facilitating risk assessments, design reviews, regulatory inspections, internal building and lab inspections, incident investigations, and responding to emergencies.
- Ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local environmental, health, and safety regulations.
- Promoting employee awareness of environmental, health, and safety matters.
- Tracking global and regional standards, programs, and initiatives to balance team workloads and ensure alignment with business priorities.
- Continuously evaluating and identifying innovative ways to streamline processes.
- Maintaining proactive relationships with business teams, management, Places partners, security, risk management, vendors, and consultants.
- Partner with peer regional EHS managers to drive consistent support for operations in their respective geographies.
- Ensuring a safe, respectful, and inclusive environment for all team members.
- At least 15 years of professional experience in Environment, Health, and Safety (EHS) with demonstrated EHS management experience.
- BA/BS in Environment, Health, Safety, Industrial Hygiene, or related Engineering field.
- Proven people manager who builds capabilities of individuals and teams through effective employee development, involvement, communication and coaching.
- Ability to travel 10-15%
- MS in Environment, Health, Safety, Industrial Hygiene, or Engineering field.
- Nationally recognized professional credentials preferred (i.e., Board Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH), Professional Engineer (PE)) In-depth knowledge of California regulations, EHS standards, and best practices.
- Experience in adapting to challenges, providing support, and guiding communications.
- Strong leadership voice with skills in communication, organization, presentations, and project management.
- Ability to build and maintain cross-functional partnerships and influence others.
- Experience supporting research and development (R&D) labs.
- Ability to handle confidential information discretely.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
