You will guide clients in understanding and adhering to the requirements of IFRS 9, a process which includes the effective estimation of Expected Credit Losses (ECLs). Further, your role extends to aiding clients in reviewing and building financial models uniquely designed for financial reporting under IFRS 9. You will also foster precise provision estimates and implement sound risk management schemes, in alignment with the Standard's requirements. Your invaluable contribution will also include transaction support in relation to IFRS 9.

Furthermore, you will assist with conducting business valuations for a diverse array of clients across various industries. Your contributions will support a multitude of objectives, including mergers and acquisitions, as well as financial reporting.

IFRS 9 related:

  • Analyze financial results conforming to IFRS 9 for various clients, focusing on ECL estimation.
  • Serve on the SaT team, performing financial modeling, valuation analysis, and executing IFRS 9 estimations and assessments.
  • Assist clients to understand and execute the provisions of IFRS 9.
  • Construct and review financial models following IFRS 9 requirements.
  • Implement robust risk management strategies aligned with IFRS 9.
  • Support clients during IFRS 9-related transactions.
  • Contribute to reports relevant to IFRS 9 implementation.
  • Conduct valuation research and analysis under IFRS 9 utilizing established best practices and methodologies.
  • Develop outcome-driven internal and client documentation pertinent to IFRS 9.
  • Identify potential opportunities for SaT team expansion within the IFRS 9 scope.

Valuations related:

  • Financial statement review and analysis, including analyses of variances, ratios, forecasts, trends, etc.
  • Perform economic analysis for local, regional and international territories
  • Generate valuation reports outlining results, assumptions and valuation approaches
  • Interact with the Assurance department teams for audit assist reviews (e.g., review of clients' impairment calculations, bond valuations, property valuations, etc.)
  • Assist with the performance of business valuations in terms of valuation calculations, discount rates, terminal growth rates, multiples, etc.

To qualify, candidates must have:

  • a strong academic background including a bachelor's degree, preferably in Mathematics, Actuarial Science, Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
  • a minimum of 1 - 2 years of related experience
  • advanced proficiency in EXCEL
  • proficiency with analytical tools such as PowerBi, PowerQuery, R and or Python will be considered an asset.
  • Knowledge of the IFRS 9 Standard will be considered a strong asset.
