Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, or related technical discipline AND 8+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
    • OR equivalent experience.
  • 4+ years of experience with distributed systems and driving technical architecture and dependencies

Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree in Computer Scienceor related technical fieldOR equivalent experience.
  • Experience building privacy, compliance, or data governance informed software or services is a plus.
  • Experience building software / services with Microsoft Azure is a plus.
  • Awareness of emerging privacy and data governance related regulations

Software Engineering IC6 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $158,500 - $276,600 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $202,800 - $304,200 per year.

  • Empower the organization’s engineering teams with clear architectural principles and framing.
  • Work closely with their peers in relatedplatformand application teams.
  • Help drive the correct technical division between platform and apps.
  • Work internally with architects across the company to ensure that Microsoft’s products canleverageour data privacy products.
  • Understand internal Microsoft privacy requirements so that these can be integrated into our product plans.
  • Evangelize our technical vision for Privacy at industry events, organizations, standard bodies, etc.
