As a Prime Video technologist, you’ll have end-to-end ownership of the product, user experience, design, and technology required to deliver state-of-the-art experiences for our customers. Key job responsibilities
• Be the lead subject matter expert on advanced, high resolution video transport systems, including system development, planning and execution.
• Design, deploy, maintain, and support media systems at Amazon Studios/Prime Video facilities.
• Act as the lead technical advisor for internal teams to help speed the adoption of new technologies and practices.
• Work closely with internal customers and partners to drive technology roadmaps and invent new video solutions.
• Work with external vendors, telecoms, partners, and industry organizations to drive solutions that meet the growing needs of Amazon Studios/Prime Video.
• Collaborate with production and post production teams on next generation media transport mechanisms.A day in the life
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
- 5+ years of media, systems and/or video engineering experience in a production, post-production, broadcast, or studio.
- In-depth knowledge of video and audio transport standards (SMPTE ST2110, NDI, Dante, JPEG XS, JPEG 2000), encoding protocols (H.264, H.265) and streaming protocols (RTMP, SRT, HLS, DASH).
- Proficiency in commissioning, operating and maintaining Evertz ecosystem (SDI routers - NEXX, Magnum, VUE).
- In-depth knowledge and experience with video systems (SDI routing, multiviewers, waveform monitors, sync generators, master clocks, and IP gateways).
- Prior experience and knowledge of AWS MediaServices inclusive of Elemental MediaConnect, MediaLive, and MediaConvert.
