Required Qualifications:

  • Masters degree in Engineering, Physics or other related scientific disciplines
  • Proven technical leadership experience in a high tech industrial environment
  • Technical management of projects including schedule, financial and resource planning
  • Electrical/electronic design experience
  • Experience with engineering software including
  • Solidworks and experience with electro-mechanical, thermomechanical and Optomechanical design
  • High level of technical ability in interpreting complex design requirements
  • Ability to communicate complex problems clearly at all levels
  • Good presentational and documentation skills
  • Proficiency with MS Office, Excel, Powerpoint
  • Knowledge of and work experience with optical fibres and lasers
  • Being familiar with cleanroom regulations and cleanroom suitability
  • English language: high level written and spoken, both colloquial and technical
  • The ability to work quickly, under pressure and to deadlines

Other Requirements:

  • Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:
    • Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Responsibilities
  • Determination of integration requirements for new equipment including mechanical, optical, electrical and other service needs
  • Determination of integration requirements for new equipment for use in cleanrooms and laboratories
  • Lead design for integration, coordination and project management of internal and external design and development resources including OEM suppliers as required
  • Process tooling and piece part design for improved manufacturing, safety, quality and reliability
  • Determination of acceptance test requirements to ensure performance requirements are met
  • Provision of equipment documentation compatible with ISO9001 QMS requirements
  • Visibly support the establishment and maintenance of a safe work environment
