Qualifications

Required/Minimum Qualifications

  • Juris Doctor Degree or international equivalent degree AND 1+ year(s) experience as a practicing attorney
    • OR equivalent experience.
  • Active license to practice law in a jurisdiction and capable of meeting admission requirements in relevant jurisdiction.
  • Experience supporting engineering and business teams, with a focus in technology and data uses

Additional or Preferred Qualifications

  • Proven track record of excellent teamwork and collaboration across geographies and time-zones, particularly in the context of working for a US technology company

Responsibilities

Legal Advice and Counsel

  • Acts of the primary legal contactin collaboration within the legal teamwith business clientsin theMicrosoftOfficeand M365Product Groups, includingcoreOfficeappsand services such asWord, PowerPoint, Copilotand OneNote,to understand technicalengineering conceptsandidentifyandanticipatelegal risksrelated toproduct development and businessstrategy;
  • Serves as a contributor to clients and colleagues aboutlegal andrelatedbusinessmattersregardinga wide range of generalproduct development,privacy/data protection,AI,compliance,content moderation,marketing,accessibility,consumer protection,competition,andintellectual propertyissuesto supportOfficeconsumer,enterpriseproductsand services;
  • Provide thought leadership and counseling on emerging issues privacy and responsible uses of data and AI technology;
  • Demonstrate strong planning and organization skills, including proven ability to think strategically,help create andexecute on plans to achieve both short-term and long-term results,and communicate with keylegal and businessstakeholders;
